Claire McAsh
Councillor Candidate
I am a local business owner, selling my family’s amazing oysters direct to restaurants and delivering to the public’s doors during these Covid times. I share the passion of my father and brother who run the oyster farm and thoroughly enjoy meeting people from all walks of life.
Growing up in Moruya I had a wonderful childhood on these gorgeous beaches and horse riding through the mountain bushlands. I’ve travelled and worked elsewhere but this has always been my home.
I have qualifications and a deep background in environmental science. I have worked for engineering consultancies as a design drafter, spatial mapping specialist and manager, and I’m now very focused on water quality and aquaculture. I also work for SmartOysters – a farm management app developed to make farming easier and therefore more strategic and profitable for a farmer.
This is so important to me as we move towards promoting aquaculture products to feed the world and to capture its excess carbon. I am enthusiastic about sustainable development, the power of people working together for positive change, talking with people about their particular passions and purpose in their life and supporting our wonderful community in any way I can.
I wish to stand for the Eurobodalla Shire Council to ensure that Council is the best it can be and delivers the best quality services to the local community.
If you would like to talk to me about the Council working in partnership with the community, please phone 0457 750 075
